it was impossible not to notice a yellow bloom of flowers as it cascaded gently down a Malibu hillside and towards the ocean

This particular scene came about as I was on my way to explore a nearby monument – of which there are many – and happened to notice the rugged angles and lines of the old fence just off the highway
